Project Superintendent

Position Overview:

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the entire lighting upgrade project from mobilization to completion, by providing the knowledge, skill and experience to run day-to-day operations on the job site. The Project Superintendents’ top priority is field coordination, working closely with the subcontractor(s) to ensure that they are always focused on quality and workmanship that meet industry standards. The daily direction and coordination of the project by the superintendent ensures that the work is carried out safely, correctly, within budget and on schedule.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Studies specifications and contract to plan procedures for construction, ensuring start and finish times, safety, quality, and staffing/subcontractor requirements for each phase of construction job are met.
  • Coordinates subcontractors work in proper sequence while keeping the overall scheduled completion done. Conducts weekly subcontractor meetings and reviews 2-week short interval schedule, current quality management or activities and overall jobsite safety.
  • Establishes sub-contractor manpower requirements to achieve project schedule.
  • Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Confers with General Superintendents, supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, suppliers of materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Enforces the organizations safety policies in accordance the SOP and by establishing a climate that emphasizes safety on the job.
  • Works with Sr. Project Manager to evaluate sub-contractor Change Order Requests
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship and materials conform to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, punch lists daily diaries, pictures and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.

Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years of relevant construction experience
  • Experience in $100,000 jobs to $3,000,000 jobs
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required
  • Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with management and owners.
  • Experience and proficient use of Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Identify project issues and offer solutions to resolve deficiencies.
  • Proven track record of successfully supervising subcontractors and supervising self-perform employees on concrete and dirt disciplines.
  • Ability to impact and raise the level of others around them in a positive manner
  • Be a good problem solver.
  • Good driving record.
  • Must be a committed and experienced team player.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Drug Free and willingness to be tested.
  • Experience with construction management and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring and lighting installations.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code

  • First Aid/CPR
